As I have said before, one of the benefits of allowing others over to hear my Ascends is getting to hear music that they enjoy.

A fellow Ascend owner recently gave me a listen to Eddie Palmieri's "Listen Here!" disc. Listening to it right now....sounds great!

Funny you should mention this disc. It's on top of my buy list. Definitely worth checking out.

Figures, I don't have this album... YET!!!
I gotta get me some Jaco, a buddy of mine turned me on to him, the guy is a fantastic bass player.
    Quote- from Amazon:

Al DiMeola - Land of the Midnight Sun

    Release Date: 1976
    Label: Columbia

Al DiMeola's first solo album after a successful run with Return to Forever came the same year as Jaco's solo debut. Jaco appears on one track, trading licks with DiMeola every step of the way.

    Jaco appears on one track:

    5. Suite: Golden Dawn (DiMeola) 9:47

    1. Morning Fire (1:15)
    2. Calmer of the Tempests (1:11)
    3. From Ocean to the Clouds (8:38)

I just got this CD yesturday and (track 5 Suite: Golden Dawn) is FREAKING UNREAL!!! These guys were seriously jamming like there was no tomorrow!!! Di Meola and Pastorius were obviously the stand outs, but Alphonse Mouzon and Mingo Lewis on drums and percussion, and Barry Miles on the Electric Piano and Mini-Moog were no slouch either!!!
Its too bad Di Meola and Pastorius did not play anything else together.

    HIGHLY Recommended!!!!

BTW, I also got Strunz & Farah "Americas" and if you like the sound of spanish acoustic guitar stuff, you will love these guys. They are really good!

    Supertramp Classics!!
Their sound is very clean, it helps that they can actually play

Dream Theater was rocking out as well, and THEY can really, REALLY play!!!

Default Fleetwood Mac on 340 SE's

I just threw on Tango In the Night as I've always loved that album - and WOW, did it sound great on the 340 SE's! I had them cranked up nicely and they sure sounded fantastic.

Well I have had the Jaco CD for sometime now and have listened to it a few times. I don't know why I have not heard of him before. This guy can really really jam. I love the sound of that 70's funky jazz stuff. I will be looking for more of his solo stuff and when he was with Weather Report too.
