Default 340 classic or 170SE for mains? Upgrading from Athenas.

You guys have convinced me to upgrade from my Athena AS-F2, AS-C1, AS-R1s to Ascends!

I am on a budget, however, so I'm going for a used Classic CMT-340C for center and used HTM-200s for rears (or possibly used classic 170s).

For mains, used 340 classics and new 170SEs are around the same price so those are my choices. Which would you choose?

I almost solely use my setup for home theater. My room is large with high ceilings.

Since you are getting a classic 340c, and cost is similar, you might as well get the 340 classics for a matched set.

I have 340SEs across the front, and prior to that had 340 Classics. While both are great, if I now had to re-buy all over again, I wouldn't do it any other way but 340SEs. I have not heard 170SEs. Me personally I'd save up.

On a budget for HT, no doubt: HTM-200 all around! Think about it.....
