    Default Master and Commander

OK, I know that most people probably already know this but for those who don't, if you want to give your sound system a real workout (as well as appreciate how great your Ascends sound,) check out Master and Commander. Close to the beginning of the movie, their ship is attacked and out of that scene come some of the most amazing sounds I've heard out of my HT. Not only the hard hitting bass when the explosions hit but the footsteps on the deck, the particles of matter hitting all around you, everything is just amazing. This is a "must rent" if not a "must own" just for this scene alone.

    Happy listening!

I have M&C 'permanently' Tivo'd from HBO in HD. I frequently fire-up that same scene just to let my VTF3 stretch it's legs.

I'm aboard on this, too! I just watched it last night with my newly installed 7.1 system. What I also appreciated were the Cello/Violin scenes - great contrast to the battle scenes. Ascend simply kicks in both.
