Default CMT-340 Classic Main & Center Differences

I just received a 340 Classic center to complement my 340 Classic mains. I notice 2 minor differences in the appearance. First, the woofer colors are slightly off, with the center color being a slightly lighter shade of grey. Second, the woofer dust caps are pointed on the center and rounded off on the mains. I thought the speakers would be identical in appearance?

Probably nothing to lose sleep over, but is this common?

    Thanks.

I far apart were the purchases?

There was a woofer change about 1.5 years ago.

Definitely nothing to lose sleep over though.....sit back and enjoy.

The mains were purchased Spring of 2005, the center just a couple weeks ago. The 340c classic picture on the website shows a rounded cap vs. the pointy one on mine. Just curious why the difference? Was it some type of upgrade?

We went from a plasic "stubby" phase plug to a more expensive aluminum phase plug about 1.5 yrs ago. Aluminum helps heatsink the motor assembly = greater power handling / less heat geneation at higher power levels... the longer plug also provides even better dispersion...

Yes... there are some "classics" out there with the aluminum phase plug..

    Take care! __________________
