Default New to HT newbie question

When using the Pany XR-55, would I set the front speakers to small when using the STF-2 subwoofer, even though the front speakers are rated down to 52hz +/- 3db? I'm thinking I should have the satelite speakers playing 80hz and above to make it easier on them and let the sub do the work. The HSU was designed to blend this way from what I've seen posted.

It all depends on how you prefer your sound. Honestly I'd play with it a little at 60 and 70 hz. People can tell me day and night that 80 is the way to go, but I love me my 60hz crossoverings ^_^

80 is the minimum on the SA-XR55 unfortunately.

Guess they figured since you could double and triple amp in stereo mode, you'd never need to cross it over lower for the amp's sake.

Since your music and movies can go below the 50Hz region, as long as you have a sub, you should run all your lower bass through it. It looks like your Panny likes the THX recommended value of 80Hz. Another benefit of pushing the lower frequencies to the sub, it increases the headroom of your amplifiers by not having to reproduce them to the speakers.
