You got to go to your User CP and set your time zone.

Too bad we do not offer internet access at the UCLA hospitals right now to patients (that is going to change in the future), but I can't see DaveF with his laptop while his wife is delivering.

Afternoon everyone and thank you so much for all the kind wishes!

Nicole Sara Fabrikant took her first breath of Los Angeles air at 12:45pm on Thursday (yesterday)...

We had some minor complicatons that gave me quite a scare -- but after about 2 hours of ICU -- our little baby girl was fine.. On her way out she took a few too many gulps of embryonic fluid that got into her lungs. This had to be drained before she was able to properly breathe on her own. From what we were told, this is not uncommon with c-section deliveries. Nicole was breathing on her own by 3:00pm yesterday

Been a tiring past 24-hours but Dina and Nicole are doing great -- I am exhausted and home for a quick nap. My little girl is just adorable -- a perfect 19" of cuteness. I do have some pictures but these will have to wait before I post them. Got to get at least an hour or two of sleep before I head back to the hospital...

Oh yeah -- almost forgot 7 lbs 5 oz ...

Congratulations David! I know firsthand how stressful those hours/days in the NICU can be, but it makes it all the more sweet when you can take them home.

Oh yeah, congratulations as well to MarkSchindler and Starcycle. Two others guessed the weight correctly but for a boy.

    congrats, dave!

as for the complications, when i was born i had a severe staff infection so i was under intensive care for the first couple days of my life. i actually got put on a plane in a little incubator box thing and flown to a different hospital that specialized in child care. i bet that must have done a number on my parents...

i hope you and your wife have a wonderful time raising your new child.

Woohoo - congrats. I'm glad all parties are doing well.

I was actually down at Chirdren's Hospital last night to check on my niece (minor surgery) and was having flashbacks to her birth and the ensuing days at CH. The IICU/PICU is brutal on the nerves - IIRC, the docs in Seattle at the IICU did two weeks on and six weeks "off" (doing research, etc) to avoid burnout.
