    Default 170 w/sub vs 340 w/sub

I guess this is an extension to another thread that was posted (sorry~)

I know the most notable differences btwn the 170 and 340 is the bass and lower notes the 340 can hit, and I guess the overall SPL. If you have say an STF2 handling all duties <80hz, will there still be a noticeable btwn the two assuming you're not completely blasting your windows out?

My wife and I both thought so. The 340s sounded better throughout, even at soft levels. As to the bass, for music, we found the 340s were usually deep enough (but we have them closer to the ceiling and back walls than is optimal).

Movies tend to sound better with a subwoofer.

The diference between the 340 and the 170 is the same between a Ford Mustang and a Ford Focus. Power and excitement, after all.

No sub on earth will fill the gap between them.

    The price difference explains that.
