    Default New Outlaw 970 Pre/Pro

Looks like a heck of a deal for $699.

    Wow!

Wonder what the 990 has that the 970 doesn't.

For those that didn't get the Outlaw e-mail about the 970, it's their 1070 receiver without the amp section and with a couple tweaks, so I suspect most feedback on the 1070 is applicable to the 970.

...take the Model 1070, remove the amplifier section, fine-tune the software, tweak the hardware a bit, and offer it as a value priced surround processor...
As for the differences to the 990, they mentioned that in the e-mail too:

...the additional features of the Model 990 (such as a phono section, balanced outputs or multi-room capability)...

Does anyone still use a tuner? I don't even have an antenna hooked up to any of my receivers. I listen to NPR online and I much prefer Internet Radio for music.

I rarely use the tuner at home...maybe twice a year. I listen to radio in the car.

I would like to see what kind of bugs people find with the unit and then maybe get one.

Occaisionally we use the tuner to listen to our high school ball games on the local radio station. Aren't the Outlaw products based on the Sherwood chassis??
