Pioneer and Ascend... Good Match?

I have a Pioneer VSX-D811 in a room that is 12x24 room. With the 340c L&R, with 170's as the surround speakers, can the Pioneer drive these speakers?

Not sure about the spec of your receiver, but the 340s are very efficient w/
anechoic sensitivity at 91db - if your receiver can't drive it, you probably
need to get another receiver 'cos there are not many speakers that are
easier to drive than the 340s.

I don't see why not. My room is 14'x19' with a 12' cathedral ceiling and is open on two sides. My Pioneer 1015 drives the exact same speakers you described to very loud levels.
