Very interesting...Jokes about ignoring ones' wife aside, its cool to know that male versus female voices can engage our brain differently.

Perhaps this is why most qualified loudspeaker critics recommend evaluating speakers by listening to natural sounds that we are accustomed to hearing unamplified--including BOTH male and female voices.

In that way, both the 'primative' and the 'analytical' parts of our brain can evaluate the accuracy of the speaker.
