Default Anyone know if Denon plans to replace

the 2910 soon? The 2910 has been out 2-3 years now. Rumor has it that a replacement will be called the 2920 but I can't seem to find any info on the web.

    Thanks,
    Khoi

The 2910 just came out last year....It replaced the 1900....and a 1910 was introduced as well. The 2900 was replaced by the 3910, which came out last year too.

Some say the 2900 outperforms the 3910 for audio...and outperforms the 2910 in audio and video.

    Here is a good resource:

Interesting. I was talking to a salesman at tweeter and he said a replacement for the 1910 called the 1920 will be in stores in August and that a replacement for the 2910 should follow shortly thereafter.

    Thank you for that URL.

I'm sure you are right. I can't imagine Denon replacing the 2910 after 1 year. I'm pretty sure sales volume of the 1910 justifies a replacement.

    Khoi,

I haven't read through it yet, but the owners/administrators of Audioholics are now at the Denon Conference in Jacksonville, FL. They are posting their findings here. http://forums.audioholics.com/forums...ad.php?t=11967
What if the Hokey Pokey is what it's all about?

    gr1m,

There are quite a few comparisons of both of these players on the DVD Player forum of AVS. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=18

I am also looking for a new player, and am leaning towards the Samsung 941 or 950. This is primarily becuase of HDMI/DVI and hi-rez compatibility. From what I've read, it's pretty hard to beat the 941 for under $130.

    Best of Luck!

Found something else today. Looks like Crutchfield is taking pre-orders for the 1920.

Very cool. In looking at the specs, Denon is raising the bar. The 1920 will play dvd-audio and sacd and also will have HDMI output. It also will use Burr-Brown PCM-1738 192kHz/24-bit audio DAC. Not bad for the asking price of $349.
