Are Harman Kardons the only (affordably priced) receivers that offer separate crossover points for Front-center-surrounds?
Don't know about the other brands, but what's cool about the HK 1005 (digital HK AVR), is that you can xover all the analog 5.1 channels too (SACD/DVDA).
My Sony STR-DA1ES has that capability. Surprisingly, my Denon 3803 does not!

That's a nice feature on the 1005 for SACD/DVDA...did I hear the 630 had this also but not the 635?
Didn't know any of the Sony's had this feature either. Strange that so few are offering this capability.

That's correct. the 630 bass manages the 5.1/7.1 analog inputs. The 635 does not.
I think the theory is that any universal player worth its cost would do the base management, rendering that feature in a receiver redundant. Sure wish my 635 did it though, cause the bass management in my player sucks :-(Originally Posted by chas
