Anyone pre out receiver to power amp?

... and how is it comparing to using the same receiver by itself(using its own power).

I don't know if I would gain a lot by doing this so if you have already done so and it really makes a big different, then I'll consider buying the B & K ref. 125.7 to power my H/K 630.

I have used an HK 525 to front an ATI 1505. Not a huge difference, but did seem to make the bass more authoritive.

I use a vintage NAD 2200 amp with my Marantz 5400 for DVD and VCR surround sound, not much difference.

However for 2-channel CDs I use only the 2200 with a NAD pre-amp and it's a HUGE difference...my 340s tripled in soundstage, clarity, fullness---wow!
