    Default Yamaha 5790

    Does anyone happen to be using one of these with their Ascends? If so, how would you rate it?

    It appears I can get one for about $300 open box from Best Buy, so I'm seriously considering it.

    I've got one running my CBM-170 surrounds and handling processing. Outlaw M-200's run the front 3. So far, I have been very happy with it. That "bright" sound people associate with older Yamahas isn't there at all in my opinion. The manual is a pain in the ass and it doesn't have 3 component inputs, RS-232 ports, or Firewire, but for the price I say go for it.

    I'm running a Yamaha RX-V757 which I THINK is comperable with Ascends all around (340 front and center/ 170 rear) . I think its a fantastic fit with the Ascends. I notice no 'brightness' as well. Just good, clean, ample power, lots of connections and lots of options.
