    Default Why not HK235?

    First post!

Just curious why Ascend doesn't offer the HK 235 receiver on the web site? The HK 335 has just 5 more wpc - is there a particular feature missing in the HK 235 that I should worry about? Thanks!

    Per David F:
"I don't offer the 235 receiver. (I think it is a bit underpowered and
    under-featured)." Sorry, I didn't ask specifics.

Its probably not worth it from a price standpoint to them. Powerwise though, even the 135 is well above the required 25 watts.

I'm funny about receivers in that I dont personally like all the excessive tweaker features that just end up cluttering up my remote. I dont like weird sound fields, i dont need a gagillion optical and coaxial ports, and i dont need to set up speakers in 2-3 other rooms of my house (driven by one receiver). Its like they give you everything you "really" need in the base model and from there on out its almost all fluff.

I bet my ears would start to hurt and be damaged before even the 40 watt HK would begin to falter (from too high a volume).
