    Default mp3 vs. cd

is there any noticable difference in sound quality between an mp3 ripped at 320 and a cd?

if you are using a good quality ripper to make the MP3, and then a good quality player to play it back, then I would say you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. MP3 players are not generally mid-fi quality playback devices.

I'm with Curtis. With a good rip and good playback, you'd be very hard pressed to tell the difference. I don't remember where I saw this, but I believe it was Wilson Audio that put on this demo of a new "device" that supposedly made your CD's sound better and let a bunch of audiophiles come over and check it out. After people kept raving about how great the music sounded, it was revealed that they were listening to mp3's. Now, that's funny.
