No, they would attach in lieu of the bases, which need to be attached as part of the speaker set up. Simply bolt the outriggers into the threaded inserts in place of the bases.

100% correct. The outriggers simply attach to the base of the speaker using the same threaded inserts that would normally be used for the tower base. No modifications to the speaker cabinet are needed.

100% correct - and the towers are 7.5" wide and already have 1/4-20 threaded inserts on the bottom.

Well OK, maybe another week or two. But I don't mind, I've been listening to my trusty old Sierra-1s A LOT lately. And stocking up on my first batch of SACDs so I can let the RAALs shine. :)
