Ascend Acoustics CBM-170 vs. PSB Stratus Mini?

Hey guys,

My friend has a pair of PSB Stratus Minis and I was just curious as to how the CBM-170's compare.

I know the Ascends are a lot cheaper, but thats not a concern since I can buy the PSB's used for a pretty cheap. The minis seem very involving, have decent bass, but the highs seem somewhat peaky and bright. Its hard to tell if the room is to blame or not.

Im just wondering if anyone has heard these two speakers side by side before? Are the Ascends a musical speaker that conveys the emotion of the music, or are they boring and dull sounding ( compared to the stratus minis)?

Oh ya, and I will most likelly use these in my small ( about 10x10) bedroom. So they need to be abel to handle close to wall position and not sound bright. Are these capable of this?
