Re: Question: 2EX or Horizon Center for mains
Not very difficult to rotate the tweeters.
Re: Question: 2EX or Horizon Center for mains
Just need to be competent with a phillips head screwdriver.
Also best to replace the tweeter's magnetic shipping covers during the procedure so no metal bits get drawn into the speaker causing damage to the ribbon (the tweeter's magnet is strong and the ribbon extremely delicate).
With upright S2-EX on the shelf with the TV, you might squeeze in a 50" TV but realistically you'd probably need to drop down to about a 43".

Rotating the driver - just found this video for dome tweeters:

Would assume procedure for RAAL is similar, plus protecting the ribbon – but let me know if I'm missing something.
TV size – with speakers on the bottom shelf, a 75'' is my dream case ;)

It is not difficult to do. If you have any questions, you should call Ascend. Don't rely on a YouTube video.
Re: Question: 2EX or Horizon Center for mains
Wall-mounting the TV is a potentiality – currently researching options.
Meaning, Horizons could sit on the top shelf.
Still, concerns around spacing remain.
Out of curiosity: for a pair of Horizons (non-slim, standard version), what is the minimum recommended distance between speakers?
Thinking imaging, stereo effect...?

Rule of thumb, about the same distance between speakers as from the speakers to the listening position.

Yes, that is the exact procedure.
Regarding separation between two speakers, If you are 10' away, then at least 7' apart would be fine.
I would recommend Sierra-2EX upright on top of your entertainment center. That'll get them as far apart as possible and closer to ear level.

Jimb, Nate – very clear, thank you for weighing in!
