Would an amp be beneficial? If so, any recommendations?
I currently have a Yamaha RX-A1000 receiver (so it’s getting a little old). That being said, I feel as though by system sounds relatively well considering my level of knowledge concerning these types of things.
Aside from the Yamaha, I have a Rythmik A300SE. It’s a 12” ported sub and it’s a little old as well since it is a discontinued model. I have 4 CBM-170’s, two CMT-340’s as fronts, and another CMT-340 as the center speaker. I also have a little cheap ass sub that used to be commended to. Low end Kenwood receiver that probably dates back to ‘Nam.
Obviously, it has plenty of thump but I really haven’t done any upgrades in 7 or 8 years so I was exploring some options.
Thanks guys.

I would upgrade an amp for features not sound quality. I do think the newest Dolby Surround and auto eq are useful features to have. I would consider an Denon X4400h or something similar. Upgrading to the Sierra series would definitely provide a noticeable improvement.
