I know this isn't the fastest or most efficient way to expand the Ascend fan base, but soon (maybe tonight?), there will be another addition to my family who I hope someday will appreciate the wonderful speaker company I've grown to love.

Just wanted to share the news with a great group of like-minded people! PHotos of my new baby to follow when I can get them up!

Cliff,

Congratulations on the addition to your family. I have not tried this myself, but I bet the Ascends plays "Lullabies" wonderfully for the new addition.....

All my best to you and your family.

I'd like to introduce y'all to my newborn son, Connor Andrew Li, born at home (planned) on Easter Sunday, 5/27/05 at 3:50pm.

My wife started going into labor at approximately 5:00am that morning. Her contractions were pretty regular coming every 2 minutes, lasting for about 45 seconds in duration. We called the midwives sometime between 8am-9am, and they started arriving shortly after 10am. She had reached 3cm of dilation by 11:20am.

They determined that the baby was in a posterior position (sunny-side up) so they tried (unsuccessfully) to get the baby to turn over. I ended up trying myself (it involves using a piece of fabric to lift my wife's hips up & and jerking one end of the fabric to create some rotation in her hips) and was successful! Go dad! ;)

We then got in the shower where she labored for probably 30 min, and then got in our birth pool by 1pm. She labored the rest of the way in the birth pool, with a few brief moments of getting out to have the midwives check her status, and our son Connor was born in the birth pool shortly before 4pm. My daughter & son came in just after he was born, and my daughter even had the honor of cutting the cord.

All in all - a wonderful experience & we're enjoying the luxury of being at home aftewards! What a testament to my wife's courage, perseverence & strength for doing it without drugs! We're all doing wonderfully & Connor is nursing like a champ!

At the time of his birth, Connor weighed 8 lbs 10 oz, was 21 inches long, and had a 14 in head & chest. :)

Here are some photos as promised!

Yeah, you gotta have a pair of 170s in there! Classical stimulates the mind!
Picture #2 looks like he's saying "Daddy, gimme an Anthem D1 pre/pro!" :p

Clifford - that first picture of Connor looks almost exactly like my Connor when he was born. Here's a pic of my Connor taken in early October with my Dog Gromit (Airedale Terrier) - he's 2 years and 2 months here. Best thing that ever happened in my life!
