Do you normally listen to your Ascends with the grilles on or off?

Grilles stay on...the kids do not even know they come off!

Same here.....I think! If the kids know they come off, they don't mess with them.
I'll take them off once in a great while when no one else is home, just to look at those expensive-looking Aerogel woofers!

Ditto what Curtis and Mag said here - though my son is (so far) pretty good at staying away from Dad's good speakers (can't say the same for my cheap old Kenwoods upstairs though - and in that case the grills don't stop him anyway).

ON, just because I get too lazy to take em off! :D
I also don't want to offend anyone by showing off a naked woofer phase plug!

On! Too many tiny exploring fingers around this house!

I'm split - L&R are off, but center, RL, RR are on. With the black boxes I like the look of the grilles on, but with the wood I like the look of them off.

On, I just took them off to replace the logos.
my grills stay on so the fronts don't reflect light and just to protect the speaker if someone happened to bump into them or something. i know if i took them off i'd end up losing them.

90% of the time i have them off - they look more dynamic and create more conversation. plus it feels like i'm closer to the music or something ;)
10% i have the covers on when i have parties, etc. i'm thinking of having a little laminated card next to each speaker saying 'please do not touch - you know not what you do'

No little kids I have to worry about so I leave 'em off.
I also have that "psycho-acoustic psychosis" where I feel closer to the music when they're off, even though I most likely couldn't tell in a blindfold comparison.

I feel the same way although your way of describing it beats mine. When the wife's not home, the grills come off. I just wish I could get that image of Madonna out of my head. http://forum.ascendacoustics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I leave them on but I don't have children that will go around poking on them. I have me, which is likely just as bad.

On for no particular reason.

On.... mostly because I don't know what to do with the Speaker Grills once their off. WAF also comes into play and mine doesn't appreciate "this hobby" as much as I do. Kids are old enough to know to leave "Dad's Speakers" alone.
