I'm interested in setting up a demo for 340s or at very least 170s in the Portland, Oregon area. I have listened to what several b&m stores have, and so far I like the B&W DM602s3 which seems to be in the same ballpark as the 170s or 340s. Are there any takers?

bump. Still looking for a demo within 100 miles of Portland, Or. Any takers? If not, I suppose I'll have to do an in home trial. Not that it's bad, but I'd like to listen locally, then buy a 5.1 system if I like what I hear. I will probably only buy a pair of 340's and stands if I have to demo myself. That would save shipping in the unlikely case I don't like what I hear.

jimsiff,

I saw you picked up some 340's. Any chance I could come listen to them? Or anyone else in the Portland area?

Thanks!
John

I have a pair of 170's to which you are more than welcome to listen. There are, of course, certain hazards at my house, such as an over zealous golden retriever and over loud toddlers.

I've been away from the forum for awhile now. Jaobrien6, if you still want a demo, let me know.

jimsiff,

Sent you a PM.

Thanks,
John

P.S. gr1m: as for the sushi, couldn't tell you, sorry, never been a big sushi fan, myself.

There's a sushi land in beaverton, haven't been there because I'm not a sushi fan but I hear they have other good stuff too :)

I also have a pair of 340s and a 170 as a center, though my acousic configuration isn't the best for audition (bad room shape, things have to move to sit dead in the sweet spot). Love these speakers though.
