I'm sort of embarassed to say - just a measly Pioneer VSX-409. That will be remedied SOMEDAY.
i'm using an older technics 5.1 reciever. will probably go the refurbished denon route after awhile.

Have you posted your impressions of this combo anywhere? I'd be very interested in reading about it.

We have an integrated HT/2 channel system, with 340s across the front, 170s to the rear, and an Hsu VTF-3 Mk2 sub. A Pioneer VSX-2012 handles movies, and an NAD C370 integrated amp does the 2 channel.

When I receive my 340 L/R pair Tuesday, they will be powered by a Pioneer VSX-54TX.

how do you like your yamaha? i've been thinking about that receiver. it seems to have some good features for it's price. would you recommend it to someone who's looking for an affordable 7.1 solution, powering 6 170's and a 340 main?

I'm sure the Yamaha is nice. You might also want to check out the Pioneer VSX-1014TX 7.1 receiver. It shares a lot of the power supply and amp guts with the Elite 52TX receiver and is a great bang for the buck. It's 110wx7, THX Select, Auto MCACC setup, component upconversion, etc. It can be had from Best Buy or J&R for $399.

Jeh, I really like my Yamaha, and still consider it at the top of the short list for best bang-for-the-buck receivers. The Pio 1014 has also garnered lots of praise, but I haven't heard it.

When I finally get my 340 L/C/R set up, they will be driven by my Denon 3803S(silver) receiver. I'll still be driving my older Polk RT-15i's for the surrounds until I get enough to order a set of 170s.

"MY system is powered by a B&K 507."
Did you have another receiver in the past and can you compare them? if you did.
I currently have the H/K 630. Sound good but I still feel the power is not very clean/clear. I have listened to separate and definitely feel the difference. I'm considering buying the B&K ref. 125.7 s2 and preamp my H/K to it and eventually replacing the H/K with B&K processor or Sunfire. So anyone with comment, experience with B&K stuff, please let me know.
