I'll be getting it at some point. Read some info on it at another forum, and it sounds like it will be great. Supposedly they had about 600 PowerMac G5's working on it for months.

Hehehe, looking forward to watching the 2 without the Ewoks! Been years since I have seen them.

What was the preorder price and what will the price be when the stores sell it?

I think as of right now, speculative prices for when the DVD set comes out next week is anywhere btw $40-$48 at various stores. Amazon has it for $42. However, if you're lucky, you can get a 'Coupon Book for Madden 2005' at Best Buy (located in the video games section) if they have any left, and inside is a coupon for 20% off any DVD. That'll knock it down to less than $35.

can't get on there right now, but i believe it was $41 w/ free shipping.

these will do nicely compared to my bootleg DVD versions. ;)

Any version of Star Wars that has Greedo shooting Han first, will never find a place in my home. That is utter sacrilege!

Thanks, the Management.

For thos eof us who did not preorder the set, keep an eye open at the large chain stores like Best Buy and even Costco. They are sure to discount this title big-time to bring in the customers.

Hopefully the sound on this set will be better than the Special Edition Laser Discs.[;)] But, Mag, anything should be better than the VHS versions.[:D]

(Just for food for thought, I have the VHS versions, laser disc Trilogy set, laser disc THX versions, and the Special Edition LD set and I will still be there on Tuesday to get my boxed DVD set) - What a geek !?![:o)]

I have the fullscreen SE trilogy on VHS...it was a gift. I also have the original versions on Laserdisc(widescreen, of course!) before the THX and SE versions came out. When is the next meeting of the
He-Man movie collector geeks society?[:D]

Not sure when the next meeting is, but I know who is president (cough, cough Dave) [:D]

Ya'll wouldn't even let me in the door for the meeting. I own NO movies. Of course we have a few thousand here at the office so it's not as dire as it may seem. [:D][:D]
I may join Netflix this weekend. Many of our movies are "academic" in content so there are still alotta movies I'd like to see that we don't have in the collection.
I have an email from a friend of mine that entitles me to a free one month trial of Netflix. If anyone is interested in this extended free trial, send me an email. It expires Sunday.

This is incredibly geeky, but who knows?
It may even work...

Here is the best deal I have seen on the trilogy, not bad if you don't mind dealing with rebates.

I know I am responding late but, I bought the set (big suprise huh) at Tower Records in Glendale. The disc set was marked $49.95 and when the gal behind the counter scanned the set the total was $41.95. I do not know if this was only for the first few days of the release or not, but I was happy.

And yes I am a movie geek.....

A movie geek with a great home theater!
