I have been in stealth mode on this forum for quite a while as my search for my next set of speakers has ended here.

We will be building a new house in a couple of months and I have spent many hours researching and learning all I can about current music and home theater reproduction technologies. I used to be pretty familiar with the various types of equipment and technologies but that was more than a few years ago.

Since then, I moved twice, gave most of my equipment to my sons and other family members and ended up with a much smaller and simpler system. My last towers and surrounds were NHT 3.3s with a matching center and 1.5 surrounds. All that is left is the 1.5s which are my fronts. Our current house dictated losing the large speakers and the mono block amps and using an Elite receiver for the past 10 years.

DW now wants to move to a retirement community with me kicking and screaming to stay put. The icing on the cake was I was able to covert an atrium into a media room and have "permission" to rebuild a music and HT system; although on a modest budget so it will be a bare bones room with mostly gear and speakers...no frills other than front projection and a dedicated equipment closet (DW gave up a closet for that).

My speaker plan is the Towers with the Horizon center and most likely the 170s for surrounds...still debating this one a little. I am still looking for a preamp and amp to go with the system but there is no rush.

I have learned a lot from you fine folks and look forward to continuing to do so while being able to post questions and eventually my own experiences.
