Mixing sub and speaker lines is no problem. That's a nice little sub according to Tom Nousaine's measurements it plays clean down to 32hz and can reach 25hz at 85dB.

I hope I might tack on my question here. I have two CBM 170s and the VTF2 sub. The sub is too large to fit where we'd hope to place it (under a table). Plus we eat at the table.
So my wife is moving furniture.

I'm planning to sell mt **** 901s (cuurently in the cellar), and, perhaps, move the sub down there. Are there any other subs like that Klipsch, that are "diminutive" but decent. Cheap is also good.

Thanks,
Pegleg

Would the Hsu STF-1 be small enough?

Thanks, Curtis. I was just visiting their store and that looks to be the ticket! The 10" width should fit easily. Then I can move the VTF2 to the basement (approx. 1300 sq. feet) and get a pair of 170s OR 340s one of these days.

Hi Pegleg,

Give us a call when you get a chance. We have a few of the Hsu STF-1 subs in stock. A VERY impressive sub for its size!

Dave,
Thanks for the offer. We went table shopping today, and my wife decided that, rather than try to sell the VTF-2, and get the STF-1, she was happy getting a nice table (a nested set of 3 for $160) to place over the subwoofer.
So, everything seems to be good again. Although I wish the STF-1 had been available back in the fall, as long as the bigger (and heavier--UGH!) sub works, no reason to change it.
