Hello :)

Some suggestions for the site, using before and after images. ;)

Before:

After:

I know they might not look very different, but "God is in the details" (or is it the devil?). ;)

By the way, the "After" is not a Photoshop version of the "Before", it is recoded (and leaner) HTML. :p

Pretty much the finished product (http://www.dvdshrink.info/temp/ascend/index.html).

Please let me know what you all think. :)

I think it looks great! I will be sending you an email later in the day. My son's last day of school is today so I haven't had any free time in the past 2 days.

Thanks, David, I appreciate it. :)

I assume you meant "off". :D

In any case, I know you're a very busy "Business man - Speaker designer - Father/husband - Dude" so just contact me when it's convenient for you. ;)

As a professional web designer, share some thoughts. First, although I can easily get nit picky about the Ascend site's visual design on a superficial level, Dave(or whoever oversaw development) got the important things 100% right on the site imo.

First, images of the speakers. Big ones. This is so vital for me when buying something online. It's that the visceral experience of hunting/gathering hard coded into our brains. If I can't touch an object, I need nice pics to get an idea what I'm getting. Great job!

Also, you have great info. Again, for the CBM 170SE purchase, I read professional reviews, looked at graphs(awesome, btw) and probably read everything 6 times on average. This combined with the community section is is what kept me coming back to the site. It's nice to hear from actual owners. This could be seen as dangerous to some companies but I think is valuable to hear real impressions from REAL people for new visitors. Also the fact that the content is updated always keeps me coming back to see what's new on the Ascend site.

The submitted design looks pretty good, I like the added spacing, new navigation/dropdowns...the header could use some work but overall looks great!

Mark

Hello Mark :)

Maybe you'd like to have a look at a more up-to-date version of my proposal. :)

http://www.dvdshrink.info/temp/ascend/beta1/index.php

Some of the stuff is generated dynamically as opposed to the actual site being pretty much static. ;)

I stopped working on it about 3 weeks ago, not all functionality has been implemented.
Dave was very busy with the Sierra-1 new finishes and couldn't really deal with the whole thing. :D
Now, I am very busy so who knows what's going to happen, if anything, and when.

I would appreciate if my design/code was not used without my permission though.

P.S: if you own Ascend speakers and would like to send a testimonial, use the testimonial form (http://www.dvdshrink.info/temp/ascend/beta1/testimonial-form.php).
If Dave "approves" it - by simply clicking a link in an email he will receive - it will appear automatically on the corresponding product page. :)
