Hello all,
I've been reading and researching heavily from AVS Forum and this one and from the reviews from both sites, I've decided on getting some Ascends because of their neutrality, reviews, and customer service.

I am looking to set up a home theater system for the first time in my living room and am needing opinions on if going with 170s or 200s would be best in my situation. The room is 14'4" x 15'2" x 15'6". I would consider the 340s but the space in front of the tv is a high traffic area and having floor standing speakers may take up too much space as well as the WAF. I'm thinking of placing the L-R on the two columns around the tv niche area and the center above the TV. The Surrounds would be placed on the back wall.

The subs I'm considering are the HSU-VTF2, SVS PB10, and SVS SB12.

My options that I'm considering are:
LCR - 170s, Surrounds - 200s or all 200s.

Thanks,
John

If you are not using the 170's as full range and crossing them over, all you need is a couple of inches behind the rear port for breathing room. If you have that, go with the 170's LRC, and the 200's for surrounds since they will be against the wall.
