I'd certainly be willing to help out with auditions in the Portland area. I just feel a little self conscious about my current humble setup (CBM-170 mains, mismatched center, no surrounds).

Bob -

It's best to leave your email address in your profile and refer Johnny to it there, instead of displaying it in your post. There are search programs constantly scanning the internet seeking valid email addresses to bombard with spam.

Unless, you like that sort of thing, i.e., "glutton for punishment".

Hi, I'm new here, but I just received my CBM-170's. Right now I run them on an HK receiver with an ACI Titan sub.

I live in Marysville, Michigan (about an hour north of Detroit) and would be happy to give an audition.

You might want to edit your e-mail address to use the words at and dot instead of the symbols whenever you post it publicly. Otherwise those spambot programs will be sending you more "male enhancement" junk than you already get.

Anybody in the St.Louis Area? Having recently gone the internet direct route with my subwoofer (SVS), I'm more inclined to do it again with speakers. Currently deciding among the big three- Ascend, Rocket, and Axiom. So far no one in the area with these to audition. I know I could order them and send the ones I don't like back, but I'd much prefer an audition first. So- anybody in St. Louis want to show off their Ascends?

I may have jumped the gun a little. I'm just somewhat giddy with the excitement and anticipation. Can't blame a guy who's been living with an eight year old Kenwood receiver, ancient sony tv, and bottom shelf JBL speakers for being excited, though.

I just wanted to say that our loyal customers are our greatest strength, and we very much appreciate all of you who are willing to open your homes so that others may be introduced to Ascend Acoustics. When I receive sales calls in the office, invariably the caller asks how they can go about hearing the speakers before ordering. This list is a very valuable tool, and my thanks go out to you!

Good Sound to You!

What of your northern neighbours?
Anyone auditioning them up in super beautiful
BC, specifically in Vancouver BC

Sorry, but if you've ever been to BC (and no, NOT
just Vancouver, but across the province of BC) you'll agree
undoubtedly with my boastful line...the province of
(Super Natural) British Columbia (BC)
is one of THE most beautiful and
diverse places in all of N.America.

Yes, Oregon and Washington state are also wonderful places...as well as California...we in the pacific west/northwest are SO lucky
considering what we have in our own backyard.

Anyway, back to the ascends forum:
if anyone has a pair in Vancouver BC, please let me know.
Otherwise I'll be the first one (doubtful) up here with a pair
or the first to say 'come on over, have a beer and a listen'.

My equipment:
--some well known line conditioner ($800)
--power chords (audience av)
--(in delivery) Audio Refinement Multi 3
--Sony 999es cd/sacd/dvd player (modded by audience av)
--SVS 20-39pc+ sub.
(in delivery) pair of Ascends 170
(and if i like 'em, I'll probably go
for the 340 front l/r and matching center).
Also considering a used Brsyton 3bst or proceed amp2
2 channel amp for the remaining 2 channels.
--Mapletree Audio Design (MAD) tube headphone amp
--Grado 325 cans

Hello all. I am seriously considering CBM-170 fronts and center, HTM-200 rears, and STF-2 sub. Anyone out there within 2 hours of Richmond, VA. willing to open their home for an audition? From all indications, I'm pretty certain I can purchase "in the blind," so to speak. An audition would be great, though. Thanks very much for any offers!

I am interested in auditioning Hsu and SVS subs in the Cleveland area.

Anybody in the area with either of these brands?

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to ask!
