I understand the tax part but you aren't going to be able to beat $8 in shipping for a pair of 170s. Ascend doesn't charge the whole shipping fee. It is pretty standard in the used audio market that the buyer pays all shipping costs.

Just satisfy your cheap bone thru the knowledge that you'd need to spend 2-3 times as much $$ to match the performance.

EDIT- You are in LA they are in Gardena, call them and see if you can drive over and pick them up. Then you only have to pay taxes.

Heck...since you are in LA, you can probably even skip the $8 in shipping and schedule a pick-up.

heh, I payed extra to get my Ascends to my door. UPS delievered them in 3-day select(I got them in two days, :) ) instead of the normal ground. Was it worth it, yes. Would I do it again, yes.

I also had to eat the tax for my SVS Subwoofer. Was it worth it, yes. Would I do it again, yes.

Aww, man....alright, the cheap bastard that I am I'll scrounge and get some.....jeez, I just spent like $6000 on a Benq Pe8700 projector and a 110" diagonal screen. whats another 1000, right. I tried every code in the "promotion box"....xtss, 20%off, free ship, gimmeforfree, etc... Damn you members[:D].

Any recommendations on a setup for the front three? I have old advent for the rear surrounds and will use those cause I'm poor now. I'm in a small apartment and I'm about 10.5 feet back from the screen. Do I need the 340 center? Is there a noticeable difference between that and the 170? Also, I have a h/k 125 on order. Is this enough power for the ascends? Thanks in advance....

You are 10.5' back from that big of a screen?

Where in LA are you? You are welcome to come to my place in Manhattan Beach and listen to the 170's and 340's.

Yep, exactly 10.5 from eyeball to screen. I had a Z2 and returned it because I could see artifacts from that close. Then BenQ....awesome. Crystal clear pic. Doesn't look that big after you get used to it. Kinda shrinks in size...

I'm in Koreatown...I'll be busy during the holidays but I'll probably buy the 170's soon. I'd buy it right now but I am the highest bidder right now on ebay. Can you take a look at it? Its a package. How much should I pay for this....I was gonna eventually sell the 3 HTM's and 2 of the stands....

If you want, you can also take a look at my Benq if your in the market for a FP. Thanks

Two years old...I would not pay more than $500 for the set delivered.

hey curtis,

How did you get the 680 price on the ebay package. I went on the site at 5 HTM's are 608+tax+shipping. 4 stands come out to 200. the ebay has 2 cbm-170's 3 HTM 200's and 4 stands. Am I missing something here?

I didn't count the stands. 2 x CBM-170's mains, HTM-200 center, 2 x htm-200 surrounds. $658 + $22 shipping = $680

Hi gimmin74,
I've a CBM-170 center and an HTM-200 for sale. All you need to buy is another pair of CBM-170 and a single HTM-200 then you will have a completed 5 channel. PM or email me if interested.

Thanks,

hey F-100,

How much are your willing to part with your HTM-200? Just curious? I am pondering to get a sixth channel.
