Which would be the better upgrade???

Okay, so I'm looking to spend some of my tax return, and I'm trying to decide which would be the better upgrade.

1. Replace Pioneer Elite 54TX (using external amps) with an Outlaw 990

2. Upgrade from the 340 classics to the 340SE's across the front


Thoughts/Opinions?

Naturally I'd like to do them both; I could do them both, and I may get away with it...or I may get my nuts cut off (by the wife)...not sure if I want to take the risk.

I'd do the SE's first no question unless the 990 has features that the Pio lacks and are those features are very important to you.

No, the 990 doesn't have features that are important to me, I was just under the impression that a dedicated pre was better than a receiver used as a pre.

The way to improve audio is with speakers and room treatments. Everything else is minor in comparison.
